Welcome to 2017! I hope you all had a great 2016 and have had a wonderful start to the new year.
I was in Annecy, France during the New Year and when the clock hit 12:00am January the 1st, 2017 I watched several paper balloons fly into the air with wishes being whispered into the flickering flames that powered it into the sky. The lake itself, which Annecy is famous for, was smooth and mirror like which helped to perfectly reflect the bright array of various illegal fireworks that now lit up the dark alpine sky. It was surreal, a stop in time, it was perfect.
I remember feeling strange, almost sad at how much I have to go through this year with me being in grade 11, studying and practising for the test that I will take next year when I finish year 12 that will practically determine my path in life. Then I thought of how I will come to own my own car and how I will learn to drive which is quite exciting. This year will be a busy one, a year that I know will come with a whole load of stress and fear but I must power on because these last two years of my schooling experience are important, so I must make them as memorable as possible. And I know for a fact, that this year will be filled with several new releases which I am so excited for! So yes, this year will be big, scary and extremely intimidating for me, but it is filled with the promise of new experiences and of course, a whole lot of brand new books to help reduce my stress levels or perhaps increase them!
I want you all to know that this year is a new year. A fresh year and a year full of hope. If you ever feel scared and stressed or are going through a bad time, think of the future and the endless possibilities that come with the dark times, with the stress, with the fear of what is too come because with the dark, there always comes a light as Dumbledore once stated:
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
So as this year progresses and we face what we fear, I hope we will join through this blog as one to help turn on the light. I love you all and hope your year will be filled with good times, challenging times and of course a whole lot of good books.

Most Anticipated YA Book Releases of 2016
For many book lovers, 2016 so far has been a great year for both popular and underrated book releases. I know myself that I have spent well over $100 dollars on books alone for both myself and others and this tells me that I really need a job. So far, the YA community has seen many awesome releases that I have both wanted to read and read. Considering I started this blog later in the year (2016), some books did release before this blog was made. I will still add them in because blog or not, I was anticipating their release. To the left is all the Ya book release that I have been most anticipating this year. All for one and one for all! Love from Emmaleah Xx |

Hello Book Musketeers!
Today I did something that I've wanted to do for a loooong time. Visit and buy from a bookfest!
I've known about the Lifelife bookfest for quite some time and when I finally got go, I was so excited that I was literally screaming from the inside. The Lifeline Bookfest is literally rows and rows and rows of secondhand books from certain genres. There was quite a lot of people and you could definitely tell the crazy book nerds apart from the others. With my favorite genre being Young Adult, I ran to the YA sections to get the good ones. Sadly, I was there late and a lot of the good ones were gone. I ended up picking up this beautiful limited edition copy of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is white and little dirty with golden sides and a large golden mocking jay symbol in the middle (Search Hunger Games Luxury Edition to see what the book looks like) There were many copies of the Hunger Games series but I had the only limited edition copy! This earned me a few jealous glances and glares. I also found a copy of Wake by Amanda Hocking and even though this is one of my favorite books, I didn't pick it up as I can wait for the hardcover to go on sale at my library. There was also a copy of the Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater which I'm glad I didn't pick up as two girls ended up fighting over it!
I next ventured to the child section to find some Harry Potter but only found several copies of The Prisoner of Azkaban which I had only just bought a week before. I also found some series of Unfortunate Event novels but didn't pick them up which I kind of regret. I also found several books that I had read as a child and this brought back a lot of memories as I ended up finding my favorite parts in the story. Next I toured the old, rare and collectible section which was filled with the smell of must and history (A favorite!) along with being filled with yellowing pages and faded fabric and worn leather covers. I found some interesting finds here such as a shipping log of all the boats that came into the Port of Brisbane in the 1950s and a tiny pocket book on how to have a proper conversation.
Overall, I only bought one book but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would most definitely return in the following years that the event is held. I suggest to you, my musketeers, that if you are from the Brisbane or surrounding regions to go and check it out as all the profit goes to a great cause. You can even make money from your founds as I saw a post saying that a man who bought a collectible book sold it online for $6000!
I hope you enjoyed one of my first real book adventure blogs and I hope you can find yourself some great deals.

I absolutely love the idea of this. I have seen these all over the internet but have never seen one in general so when I saw this beautiful, robins egg blue book swap box, I was instantly in love.
Although there were no books of interest inside for me, as they were for older people, when I opened the little door I was greeted with a rush of book smell which completely made my day. This is such a beautiful thing to do and I love the whole concept and idea of it.
Also, yes! That is me...Emmy! Xx
